Setting Up a Website

To ensure a uniform web presence, the University of Zurich provides its faculties, departments, institutes, divisions, centers and projects with a content management system (CMS).

Requesting Your Website

Please fill in the form in the German version of this website:
Request Website

You will need the following information:

  • URL
  • Title of the website
  • Hosting type

1. URL – Which Address Do You Want for Your Website?

Choose a URL that clearly describes your website. Please check the URL Guidelines to find out which websites can get their own UZH domain and how these should be named.

2. Hosting

Do you want your website to be hosted in the Content Management System (CMS) or externally on a separate server? Using the CMS is mandatory for UZH units. For more information, go to the Web Hosting section.

3. Corporate Design

All UZH websites must adhere to the Corporate Design of UZH.

CMS Training

The Information Technology Office offers CMS training courses and video tutorials. You can find these under the collaboration, social media and web publishing section. Registration is via UZH mail login.

About the CMS

You don’t need any programming or HTML skills to work with the software for creating, editing and organizing UZH websites.
