English Language Services: Translations and Terminology

The University of Zurich uses two languages, German and English, and the English Language Services team in the Communications Office supports UZH departments and offices in their efforts to provide information and content in English.

Our services include:

  • Terminology: We maintain a termbase with terminology from the world of higher education.
  • UZH usage: We provide information on UZH usage.
  • Recommending translators: We have a list of qualified translators.
  • Translations: We translate texts from German into English.

Interface between CMS and Translation Software

With the import-export function in UZH's CMS, Magnolia, files can be generated that can be translated using SDL Trados software.
